Da wir den Hopfenanbau trotz schlechtem Preis nicht einfach aufgeben wollen und überzeug sind, dass diese Pflanze viel Potenzial hat, suchen wir nach anderen Verkaufskanälen. Die erste Türe tut sich mit Lieferungen von frischen Hopfenranken an die Blumenbörse Zürich auf.
Die Hopfendolden, die an den Pflanzen wachsen, sehen aus wie leuchtende Zapfen und wirken äusserst dekorativ. Ein erster Absatzkanal ist gefunden.

Man könnte doch auch einen Likör mit Hopfen und Kräutern herstellen …
Die Idee, einen abgerundeten Tropfen herzustellen, lässt uns nicht mehr los.
Wir suchen in Klosterbibliotheken nach alten Likörrezepten, legen auf unserem Hof einen Kräutergarten an und beginnen zu experimentieren.
Hunderte von Mischungen probieren wir aus; 15 davon kommen schliesslich in die engere Wahl.
Nach einer Untersuchung der Inhaltsstoffe im Kantonalen Labor und einer sensorischen Prüfung von Fachleuten verfeinern wir das Rezept ein weiteres Mal.
Nach langem Herumexperimentieren und häufigem Degustieren ist er dann geboren:
der Stammheimer Hopfentropfen
Er ist ein feinherber Likör auf der Basis von Apfelschnaps, mit Hopfen und 14 verschiedenen Kräuter, der sowohl als Apéro als auch als Dessert genossen werden kann.
Nun müssen wir nur noch eine passende Flasche finden und dafür eine schöne
Etikette kreieren. Denn, was nützt der beste Inhalt, wenn die Aufmachung nicht ansprechend ist?!

Die darauffolgende, grosse Medienpräsenz gibt unserem Produkt einen riesigen Aufschwung. Fleissig setzen wir in den eigenen vier Wänden Hopfentropfen an, füllen ihn von Hand ab und etikettieren die Flaschen. Die Nachfrage ist riesig!

Hopfen – Tropfen Parfait
Reicht für ca. 8 Portionen
2 Eigelb
5 Esslöffel Zucker rühren bis die Masse hell ist
1 Vanillestengel Samen auskratzen und unter die Eigelbmasse rühren
5 Esslöffel Hopfen-Tropfen unter die Eigelbmasse rühren
2 ½ dl Rahm steif schlagen, daruntermischen
2 Eiweiss steif schlagen
1 Esslöffel Zucker zum Eischnee geben, kurz weiterschlagen, dann mit dem
Gummischaber sorgfältig, aber gründlich unter die Masse
