- Seit 70 Jahren, also seit 1952 wird auf unserem Hof Hopfen angebaut. Konrad Reutimann (1895-1977) pflanzte damals 1320 Hopfenpflanzen «im Stägli” in Guntalingen.
- Vor 30 Jahren übernahmen wir, also Brigitte und Markus Reutimann, den Betrieb.
- Seit 25 Jahre gibt es den Hopfentropfen. Mit ihm starteten wir die Direktvermarktung , kurz darauf, im Jahr 1998 starteten wir mit dem Hopfenlehrpfad in den Agrotourismus.
- Vor 20 Jahren füllten wir das Stammheimer Hopfenbräu zum ersten Mal ins blaue Fläschli ab.
- Bis heute sind noch ganz viele weitere Produkte mit Hopfen und Malz dazu gekommen und auch im Agrotourismus und bei der Gästebewirtung ist viele passiert.

Weil Hopfen unserem Betrieb “Hopfentropfen” den Namen gibt und wir alle vom Hopfen “angefressen” sind hier ein paar Tips wie ihr zu eurem eigen, kleinen “Hopfengarten” kommt.
Hopfen ist nicht nur die Würze zum Bierbrauen sondern eignet sich auch hervorragend um eine Gartenlaube zu begrünen oder einen Sichtschutz zum Nachbarn wachsen zu lassen. Stellt dir vor wie schön es wäre, an einem heissen Sommertag ein kühles Bier unter einer mit Hopfen bewachsenen Pergola zu geniessen.
Eine Hopfen-Pflanzung sollte man längerfristig planen, wird doch eine Hopfenstock bis 50 Jahre alt. Das müsst ihr wissen: Hopfen ist eine Kletterpflanze, sie kann im Garten locker vier bis sieben Meter hoch werden. Am wohlsten fühlt sich die Pflanze an einem sonnigen bis halbschattigen Standort. Hopfen sind Tiefwurzler (Wurzel geht ca. 3-5m in die Tiefe) und sollten daher einen Boden vorfinden, in dem sie auch gut nach unten wurzeln kann. Die Hopfenpflanze ist winterhart und mehrjährig, sie treibt jedes Jahr spätestens anfangs April neu aus dem Boden. Triebe, Blätter, Blüten und Dolden sind ungiftig – im Gegenteil mit einer Hopfenpflanze holt man sich eine echte Heilpflanze in den Garten.
Eine Hopfenpflanze im Garten macht wirklich Freude! Wärend der Wachstumszeit (April-Ende Juni) werdet ihr staunen wie schnell die Pflanze wächst, mit 10 – 30cm pro Tag ist sie Europameiser im Schnellwachsen. Ab August werdet ihr mit hübschen Dolden belohnt, diese lassen sich zu schöne Kränze binden oder man setzt damit eine beruhigende Tinktur an. Mit den getrockneten Dolden lassen sich Feierabend Tee-Mischungen oder sogar ein Bier herstellen.
